Hi, my name is Jānis Altmanis, Im an artist and a boutique effects pedal builder from Latvia.

I’ve been designing and handcrafting guitar effects pedals since 2009, with a strong focus on authenticity, craftsmanship, and tone. Every pedal is built entirely by me — from soldering and wiring to final assembly and finishing — right here in Latvia.

I work exclusively with through-hole components, avoiding SMD parts, to ensure reliability, serviceability, and a truly hands-on build process. Each Jānis.lv pedal is a one-of-a-kind piece, shaped by careful attention to detail and traditional electronics craftsmanship.

The enclosures are marked using steel letter punches, imprinting Latvian-language lettering directly into the metal — a permanent, tactile signature that reflects both my roots and the individuality of each pedal.

My pedals are not mass-produced. They are built for musicians who value character, durability, and a personal connection to their gear.
